Over the past week, I’ve had my mid-point fitness assessment, running analysis and bike fitting.
I am really happy with my mid-point fitness assessment. I was able to do more push-ups, sit ups, squats. I was also happy with my weight loss and inches of fat loss. I know that I am losing weight and inches because my clothes are starting to fit better or even be loose!
The running analysis was informative and interesting. Overall, the form of my upper body is where it should be, but I do need to quicken my cadence. As far as my feet, the left foot lands and picks up correctly. However, my right foot whips to the inside when being picked up, which I was told it not something to worry about at this point.
The bike fitting was informative as well. I will be using a friend’s road bike. I have a mountain bike and was willing to switch out my tires for road ones, but thought I might as well use a road bike if it fit me. Which it does. I just had some adjustments to the handle bars. I just need to get out on the Fox River Trail to get used to riding it. When I say get used to it, I mean my “sit bones” on the seat. OUCH!
This past Saturday we had a simulated bike ride at a local bike shop. It was awesome! I do have to say that about after the 2nd mile, I was wondering to myself once again, “what did I get myself into”? After I completed the 12.50 miles, I felt very proud of myself.
