How was the first day of triathlon training?
My everything hurts.
I’ve never been a fan of baths before. I feel like you just stew in your own juices. YUCK! However, after this weekend I think a hot bath is exactly what I need.
I had my physical assessment with Junius Ho, one of the trainers on Friday, and then Saturday, we got to meet the rest of our 6-pack. What a great group of people! We even got to meet some of the group from the 6-pack from last year and hear about their challenges and triumphs as well. Dr Scott Zahn of CNN Fit Nation shared his own story of his journey back to health and how this program came to be.
You can’t have a group of trainers meet and think you’re going to leave without breaking a sweat. Overall, the day was motivating and sweaty.
I had personal training with Paula his morning. Before I even got there, my body felt the aches and pains of dormant muscles waking up. I made it through the workout, and aside from the physical aches, I felt like I conquered my first milestone along the way.
However, I feel so out of place in the gym. I’m not sure how to work the machines without help and I feel like everyone else in the gym is so fit in shape. I’m winded running up the stairs. It is a bit embarrassing to be honest. I hope that this awkwardness goes away with the aches and pains.
For now, I will just take some great advice from the movie Finding Nemo and “just keep swimming!”
