Six Aurora BayCare Medical Center employees have embarked on a wellness challenge that will change their lives forever!

Over the next six months, these people will be coached, trained and transformed into triathlon-level athletes through the Aurora BayCare Sports Medicine Live Fit program.

On Thursday, November 29,  I was in the Security Office deeply focused on paperwork when I was lured out of the office under the guise of assisting a co-worker.

Suddenly,  I was surprised by two members of the Selection Team congratulating me on being selected for the 2013 LiveFit 6-Pack.

I was stunned at first and thought that perhaps I won the lottery.  I didn’t quite know how to react.  Being selected for the Triathlon Team was like winning the lottery for me!

Once it sunk in, my mind immediately tired to process what this meant.  It meant that I was now committed to participating in the triathlon and must get myself in shape.  Also, I started to think that now other people will be counting on me and that I am now part of a team.  I can no longer back out, I am committed!

It’s a great privilege to be selected to the team.   It’s great to have a goal and incentive to get back in to shape.  Back in early November, I started working out again and also started to watch what I was eating.

I want to become a good representative of Aurora, and I am very thankful for this opportunity.
