Thanks to nearly 100 Aurora Health Care caregivers, family members and friends, Aurora Sports Medicine Institute captured the “largest team” title for the fifth time at the 2012 Milwaukee Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis on Sunday, November 4th. A brisk 40 degrees did not deter participants as they made their way through the Milwaukee County Zoo grounds for the annual 5K run and 2-mile fun walk.
In addition to the largest team title, the Aurora Sports Medicine Institute Team raised $3,160 to be used to help fund programs and provide assistance to the one million adults and 6,000 children in Wisconsin who live every day with the chronic pain of arthritis.
Overall, the event’s 2,900 participants, including runners, walkers and volunteers, contributed more than $129,000 to the cause which affects one in five persons residing in the state.
