LiveFit Challenge Week 14: Lisa’s Update

Lisa Lensmire is a patient access representative at Aurora BayCare Medical Center Rehabilitation Services.

Six Aurora BayCare Medical Center employees have embarked on a wellness challenge that will change their lives forever! Over the next six months, these people will be coached, trained and transformed into triathlon-level athletes through the Aurora BayCare Sports Medicine Live Fit program.

So another week gone by. Taking one day at a time. Still experience a lot of ups and downs – which is frustrating at times because I feel like am doing good and the next day I try something and realize that I still suck at things. I mean I am definitely doing better – but my brain once again thinks my body is further along than it is. One tries to focus on your training – but that does not stop everyday life occurances from going on around you. My family is once again hit with some bad news and once again I am thrown off routine. The feeling of helplessness has hit and very tired mentally – but all I can keep doing is repeating to myself – “one day at a time” – Found out I really need to work more on my swimming – think I was again swallowed enough water to fill the pool! Little accomplishments are like huge mountains to me – ran at 5.0 for a mile where a week ago I could only last 2 minutes at 5.0 – Saturday – biked for 10 miles where couple weeks ago I could only do 5 miles. So things are getting better and to some these little things may seem like nothing but to me someone that never exercised much – HUGE MOUNTAIN!
