I survived Junius’ evil plot for the New Dublin and it wasn’t as evil as it sounded. As a 6-pack we needed to stay together and we each had 5 minutes to lead the group during the 2 miles. I made it about halfway without walking when my calf started cramping so after that it was a run/walk to the finish line. The coolest part of the run was running down the main street in New London with the street lined with people waiting for the parade to start right after the last runner/walker came in. It was an amazing sight and gave us a glimpse of what the triathlon will be like.
Monday came and I had my running analysis with Corey. Not only did I find out that my calf hurting was actually shin splints but I pound when I run. I am not a soft runner so that is what I have to work on. Soft feet, Soft feet…..
Tuesday was my bike analysis with Pascalle. It went really well, just a few adjustments to the bike. Now I just need to get outside and use it.
During the week I found out that I do not like running on a treadmill, it is much easier to run outside. You have a place to start and end but with a treadmill I noticed I always watch my mileage and it seems like it is never ending. 15 minutes flies by outside but inside it takes forever. Training runs will be held outside from now on…
