LiveFit Challenge Week 10: Leslie’s Update

Leslie Iles works in Radiology Services at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.

Six Aurora BayCare Medical Center employees have embarked on a wellness challenge that will change their lives forever! Over the next six months, these people will be coached, trained and transformed into triathlon-level athletes through the Aurora BayCare Sports Medicine Live Fit program.

First full week of training on my own without going to trainer appointments.  I feel pretty good about where I am at and where I need to go.  This is also the second week of our triathlon class. Tuesday we swam for 45 minutes.  It felt amazing to get back in the pool and swim.  We did lots of drills to work on technique. I have to tell myself to stop kicking so fast, it is not a sprint to the finish.  I need to keep my energy for the bike and run and not use up my legs.  I swam in high school and I swam sprint distances so I needed to kick fast. That will probably be the toughest. Next week is my running and bike analysis. It will be interesting to see what the results are. This weekend the 6-pack is running in the New Dublin.  It is a two mile race. Doesn’t sound so bad but when Junius tells you that she will reveal her “evil plot” when we get there I’m afraid of what she has planned for us.  We tried asking her this week, lips are sealed, not telling us until Saturday.  Find out next week if we survived….
