LiveFit Challenge Week 6: Lisa’s Update

Lisa Lensmire is a patient access representative at Aurora BayCare Medical Center Rehabilitation Services.

Six Aurora BayCare Medical Center employees have embarked on a wellness challenge that will change their lives forever! Over the next six months, these people will be coached, trained and transformed into triathlon-level athletes through the Aurora BayCare Sports Medicine Live Fit program.

Well another week is done. The beginning of the week was tough – waiting on test results for myself – got good news on Wednesday and felt that the weight had been lifted off my shoulders and it was back to kicking butt. I feel like I am definitely getting back on track. Had 2 great works and even got my butt out of bed to attend the Heart-A-Thon workout day on Saturday. Felt pretty guilty for not getting out and enjoying the great weather on Sunday – but that was the day to spend with my sister and focus on her.

Training is going well – still hard and frustrating at times – but keep pushing myself and know that it will all be worth it in the end. Got myself up to 4.4 jogging/running on the treadmill – never in a millon years did I think I would be able to get to this point. I myself am not a runner and to be able to do that is a great feeling- now it may only be for a minute or 2 – but it is the beginning.

Little steps are huge in this process and I will take them and cherish each and everyone them.
