LiveFit Challenge Week 4: Lisa’s Update

Lisa Lensmire is a patient access representative at Aurora BayCare Medical Center Rehabilitation Services.

Six Aurora BayCare Medical Center have embarked on a wellness challenge that will change their lives forever! Over the next six months, these people will be coached, trained and transformed into triathlon-level athletes through the Aurora BayCare Sports Medicine Live Fit program.

One never knows what life is going to throw you.  You just need to find the strength to handle it.

This past week was a rough one for me and my family.  From my sister being diagnosised with cancer, to my son’s good friend being killed in a car accident, to me finding out I need to see a blood specialist.  Yikes!

Training was put on hold, and I tried to get in as much of my own workouts.

I know that my body did not do well. I fell back into some of my old ways:  not eating breakfast, eating fast food,  just plain not eating.  It was not hard to fall back into those old ways,  but my brain knows that I need to refocus and get back on track.  I was able to do a couple 30-minute treadmill workouts and I felt great afterwards.

If only I could turn off all the worries that are going through my head.  That is my main focus for this upcoming week – turn all those thoughts into energy for my workouts.
