LiveFit Challenge Week 3: Leslie’s Update

Leslie Iles works in Radiology Services at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.

Six Aurora BayCare Medical Center have embarked on a wellness challenge that will change their lives forever! Over the next six months, these people will be coached, trained and transformed into triathlon-level athletes through the Aurora BayCare Sports Medicine Live Fit program.

How are the LiveFit athletes doing in week 3? Here’s an update from Leslie Iles:

“I can’t believe it is already February 3.  Four months until the Triathlon!   One month of training down another month with our trainer before we start our Triathlon class through May. I’m looking forward to training with the rest of the 6-Pack members. I’ve been able to see a few with Spin class and the Saturday classes. It keeps me motivated when I see the other 6-Pack Members; we are all working towards that common goal.

I look forward to running on the Anti-Gravity treadmill. I feel completely free, nothing hurts and I can run without feeling like I am going to keel over. Yesterday I did intervals of 6.0 and 7.0 mph. I’ve never been able to run that fast and the stress from the past week just melted off. I could have run all night. In the next week or so, I’ll have to start running on the normal treadmill. I’m not looking forward to that transition, I would rather run outside. I need to remember one foot in front of the other, I’ll make it. Just need to make sure my IPod is filled with a great running mix. Any suggestions?

Until I write again,  I leave you this quote “No one ever drowned in sweat.” -Author Unknown.”
