Do you have the determination to soar above defeat?

I trained for over 3 months for my first Olympic-distance triathlon.  I was excited to go to New York with Dr. Scott Zahn and Corey Kunzer to do the New York City Triathlon and finish.

That didn’t completely happen. I finished the swim and onto the bike, where I was in an accident with multiple other bikers and wasn’t able to finish. I have 12 stiches in my hand, where the stem of my tired punctured the skin. I took an ambulance ride to the emergency room, thus, ending my first New York City Triathlon.

If I can offer one piece of advice, and one thing I am determined to is this, “Do not give up. Keep trying and you will achieve what you set out to do.”

I trained too long to let this accident prevent me from finishing, so this weekend I am going to run the Rock and Roll half marathon in Chicago.

I will cross the finish line no matter what!!!
